The Moccamaster KBT model features a thermal carafe and a manual- adjust, drip-stop brew-basket. Therefore, this setup provides adjustability in how fast coffee flows into the carafe. The KBT brews a full 40oz pot of coffee in about 6 minutes. The thermal carafe will keep your coffee hot up to an hour. To keep coffee hot longer or for traveling with your carafe, switch to the included Travel Lid.

The Moccamaster KBGT model features a thermal carafe and an automatic drip-stop brew-basket that stops the flow of coffee if the carafe is pulled away. In other words, KGBT features an automatic drip-stop mechanism, unlike the KBT which has a manual drip-stop mechanism.

The KBGT brews a full 40oz pot of coffee in about 6 minutes. Furthermore, the thermal carafe will keep your coffee hot for up to an hour. To keep coffee hot for longer or travel with your carafe, switch to the included Travel Lid.

Final words

In conclusion, the KBT has a manual drip stop along with a half brew switch on the filter basket. Unlike the KBT, the KGBT has an automatic drip-stop that prevents dripping when the carafe is removed. Therefore, apart from the filter type, they are almost identical.

The difference between Moccamaster KBT and KGBT comes from their drip-stop design. In conclusion, the KBT uses a manually adjustable drip-stop, and KGBT uses an automatic drip-stop designed system. Apart from the filter type, both; Moccamaster KBT and Moccamaster KGBT are practically the same.
