Power Rating

Both systems, the Logitech Z623 and the Logitech Z625 have a peak wattage of 400W. That’s their maximum output of 400W at any one given time before you risk damage. The RMS (root square mean) indicates how much power the subwoofer can handle over time. The RMS for the Logitech Z623 and the Logitech Z625 is 200W. So basically, in this category, they are the same.

Numbers declared by a manufacturer delivers a crisp clear sound and a deep thundering base for gaming, listening to music, and watching movies.

Compatibility & Connectivity

Connecting a sound system is something we all wish for. They are made with a range of connectivity, which is why I’m gonna write on that topic.

No matter what model you decide to buy, you’ll have many options to connect the sound system to enjoy in your home. However, Logitech Z625 has a 1x optical input, and Logitech Z623 doesn’t.

They are compatible with TVs, computers, smartphones, tablets, music players, DVD/Blu-ray players, and game consoles like Xbox, PlayStation, and Wii.

Both models have two 3.5mm inputs, an RCA input, and a headphone jack. The main difference here is that Logitech Z625 has an optical input too. You can use up to 3 devices simultaneously with both speaker systems.

Z623 & Z625 Controls

You can find controls on the right satellite speaker of either sound system. There are two dial knobs, one for the volume and the other for the bass. A power button is present also.

Differences Between Logitech Z623 and Logitech Z625

These sound system models are so close that it is hard to find differences. Still, they do have something different from each other, and I’ll write about those differences. So let’s see, what are the differences between Logitech Z623 and Logitech Z625?

Appearance

Looking at the two systems side by side and you wouldn’t see any major difference. The only difference I could find is size and weight.

Logitech Z623

The subwoofer is 11.2 x 12 x 10.5 inches and weighs 15.4 pounds. The left satellite speaker is 7.7 x 4.6 x 5 inches and weighs 2.1 pounds and while the right speaker is the same size, it weighs a fraction more at 2.2 pounds.

Logitech Z625

The subwoofer is 11.1 x 11.9 x 10.4 inches and weighs 14.31 pounds. The left satellite speaker is 4.6 x 7.7 x 4.9 inches and weighs 2.9 pounds. The right speaker is 4.6 x 7.7 x 5.3 inches and weighs 2 pounds.

Value for Money

Average prices for a 2.1 speaker system can start at around $80 on Amazon, going all the way up to around $300. Some premium models can go up to $1000+ price tag. Let’s see what Logitech Z623 and Logitech Z625 offer at an affordable price.

Logitech Z623

It is closer to the lower end of the average price range and it also comes with a 2-year limited hardware warranty. This sound system is great for the price you have to pay.

Logitech Z625

You might have to pay between $30 and $40 more for this system but it is still great value for money. Logitech only provides a 1-year limited hardware warranty for this model.

Logitech Z623 Pros & Cons

  • Excellent reproduction of sound with computers, especially Mac
  • The rubber feet on the satellite speakers help keep them in place
  • They produce a phenomenal, clear sound and loud
  • The cable connections are a little weak and may need to be resoldered

Logitech Z625 Pros & Cons

  • The bass is very good, and the treble is also impressive
  • There is no distortion when you turn the volume up
  • The quality of the cables is better
  • It would be nice if they had Bluetooth

Conclusion

I can say that Logitech has produced two very good 2.1 speaker systems with the Logitech Z623 and the Logitech Z625. They both are definitely more than you would expect for their price range. If you buying a new sound system, make sure to look for THX-certified models, because there is a difference between these and other systems that aren’t THX certified.

The size and design of the subwoofer and satellite speakers were just OK for most setups. Realistically, there was not enough difference in size or weight to give an advantage to either one.

The only major difference between z623 and z625 is the optical input that Logitech Z625 has.

The winner in my own opinion is the Logitech Z625 because of the additional optical input and cable. It provides another high-quality connection so you can make the most of fiber optics.
